Yael Stone, a native of Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as a prisoner in Orange Is the New Black. Yael received her NIDA degree. Since her early years, Yael has been lucky to be able to collaborate with the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of theatre and visionaries who work working behind the scenes of film, television and theatre. Yael's work is well-known in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has relocated into New York City after the Brooklyn Academy of the Music's production of the play was an enormous success. Yael was co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery is the Bushwick Brooklyn studio, they support new creative writings and encourage innovative ideas.
